Banned Book Week

Banned Books Week 2011 Poster
Did you know this was Banned Books Week? BBW is being held from September 24 to October 1, 2011.

BBW is an event held every year to celebrate our freedom to read and how important the First Amendment is to us.  BBW is especially important because it shows us how having free access to all information is important and necassary, even for teenagers!  Banned Books Week also the puts the spotlight on censorship with a list of books from across the United States that have had actual or attempted bannings brought upon them.

Hunger Games...The Lord of the Flies...Crank...Harry Potter...The Golden Compass

What's your favorite book? Chances are good that someone has tried to ban it. Celebrate YOUR freedom to read during Banned Books Week.

A Wrinkle in Time...Twilight...To Kill a Mockingbird...ttyl...The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things

Every year, there are hundreds of attempts to remove books from schools and libraries. Celebrate YOUR right to choose your book!
